The Playboy – Playmate Of The Year awards ceremony was held on July 3, together with a grand party with the theme of comic heroes.

Maria Smirnova, playmate of the October edition, was named Girl of the Year. Maria's relationship with PLAYBOY goes back a long time. In 2000, she won the first Russian PLAYBOY competition, in which she beat 80 rivals, and as a result featured on the front cover of the magazine. Only in 2007, though, was she actually photographed for PLAYBOY as girl of the month (playmate). She was also voted Girl of the Year after receiving the largest number of SMS votes from readers of PLAYBOY.
