From 26 March to 26 May 2009, the sixth Moscow international festival “Fashion and style in photography – 2009” will be held. Exhibitions included in the festival program will be displayed at the best exhibition venues of the capital: the Manege Central Exhibition Hall, the New Manege Exhibition Hall, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (25 Petrovka St. and 17 Ermolaevsky Lane), the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery, the GUM Department Store, the ArtStrelka art center, the Gallery on Solyanka exhibition hall, the Ekaterina cultural foundation, the Rodchenko International school of photography and multimedia, and also other gallery and clubs of Moscow.

The theme of the festival is “Changing beauty”. The program will include over 60 exhibitions of classics of Russian and foreign photography – such as Erwin Olaf, Lee Miller, David Lynch, Guy Burden, Tarin Simon and Sibylle Bergemann. Also on the program are a retrospective of Christian Dior, exhibitions by Sibylle Bergemann, Lartigue, “Post-war fashion”, “First American Blossom: 1939-1943” and others.

In keeping with tradition, there will be an exhibition of the best photo projects of the last two years by glossy magazines working on Russian market: L`Officiel, Hello, Madame Figaro, Domovoi, Playboy, Menu Magazine, Shape, Fashion Сollection, Harper`s Bazaar, Esquire, Interior+Design, Sex and the City, In Style, Digital Photo, Fotomaterskaya, DEI, Mini, OK, Rolling Stone – a total of around 40 publications.

The premiere of the exhibition is a special project by Martini – photo works that are in the second volume of “Martini Gold Collection”, a book that has already become a cult.

At the end of the festival, there will be a closing ceremony, where an award will be presented for the best Russian project in fashion and style, “Silver wreath 2009”.

As in previous years, the festival will be interactive, and the audience will not only be able to vote for their favorite project, but also post their own photographs on a special site. The winners of the competition will be determined by visitors to the site.
