Project “Miracles. New art from London”

“MIRACLES. New art from London” is a joint project by Maria Baibakova, Kate Sutton and guest curator Nick Hackworth, London art critic and gallery owner.

The exhibition will feature works by over 20 famous artists who are at the center of the London art scene. The age, nationality and origin of the artists are as diverse as their works. They have one important thing in common – they all live and work in London and are part of one of the most striking and globalized subcultures of the British capital.

“MIRACLES” from London at Krasny Oktyabr features:
Mark Leckey, star of the London art scene and winner of the 2008 Turner prize; Shezad Dawood, artist of Pakistani origin and participant of the 2009 Tate Triennale; Conrad Shawcross participant of the Third Moscow Biennale 2009, famous for his mechanical wooden sculpture installations; Idris Khan, artist; Mustafa Hulusi, participant of the Venetian Biennale; Eloise Fornieles, artist of Argentine origin famous for her performances; Douglas White, British artist. Modern sculpture is represented by Toby Ziegler – he will be bringing one of his most recent works, Resistance Equipment, to the exhibition. Russia is also represented in the international line-up of the exhibition; one of the participants is Margarita Gluzberg, an artist of Russian origin. British artist Tim Braden also has a close link to Russia, having studied for several years at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts.
