Jabach Kakhado. MOSKVA RAW

"MOSCOW RAW" is a project dedicated to Moscow and its youth, which have noticeably changed over the last 2 or 3 years. The inspiration for the exhibition and the photo album of the same name are the famous fashionable and scandalous parties in the loft at Zavod Arma. These later turned into the Friday-night parties organized by Jabach and his friends: "New Wave Fridays" at the club "Crisis Genre" and "Idle Conversation" at Propaganda. Now these two streets have burst into the walls of the Museum of Contemporary Art, and these stylish images have become a part of the city's history.

27 year old Jabach Kahado is one of the most influential photographers in Moscow of the last ten years. He was born in New York, and five years ago he moved to Moscow where he has become a model for young photographers.

The exhibition comprises 50 photographs of medium and large formats. They are far-from-naïve portraits of people who represent the new generation in Moscow, the true heroes of the city. All the photos were taken in an "old school" style, using a wide-lens camera and Polaroid without any retouching. The other part of the show will be the installations and the video projections. On the opening day, the photo album of the same name will also be presented.
