The 6th International Musical Festival "The Universe of Sound" will be held from May 6th till 31st, 2008.

The Main Hall of the Conservatory

May 6, 7pm
Opening of the Festival
1st part: “The Ensemble of Aristocratic Music from the City of Iri” (“Iri Khyanche Chul Punniu).
2nd part: Rhythms of Venezuela. Performing: Idwer Alvarez Rodriguez (tenor), Cheo Urtado (cuatro, guitar), Ismael Kerales (bandola, percussion), David Pena (bass, mandolin, guitar, percussion) and Gustavo Carusi (guitar, mandolin and bass).

May 24, 2pm
Masterpieces of world and Brazilian vocal classics. Performing: Eliana Coello (soprano), Luis Gustavo Carvallo (piano) (Brazil).

May 25, 2pm
Zoltan Kodai’s music. Performing: The Budapest Ferenza Lista Choir of the Academy of Music, artistic director and lead conductor: Peter Erdei; The Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Conservatory, artistic director and lead conductor: Anatoli Levin. Soloists: Daniel Potek, Dora Shell, Beata Siuch, Judith Satmari and Zoltan Koshich-Holper. Organ-Peter Morva.

May 31st, 2pm, Saturday
Closing of the festival. Traditional Hindustani Classical Indian Music. Shiv Kumar Sharma (India).

The Rachmaninov Hall of the Conservatory

The “Sujeito a guincho” quintet of wind instruments (Brazil). The programme: classical and popular Brazilian music.

May 27, 7pm
The Montclair State University Singers (USA) in concert.

May 31, 7pm
Closing of the festival. A concert of Spanish Music.

The Courtyard of the F. I. Shalyapin House-Museum.

A project of the "Northern Venice" international opera enterprise and the Andreev State Academic Russian Orchestra (St. Petersburg). The gala-concert “The Sounds of the Strings of the Russian Soul”. Artistic director and lead conductor: Dmitri Khokhlov.
