“KomMissiya 2008” The 7th International Festival of Hand-drawn Narratives and Comics.

The 7th International Festival of Comics “KomMissiya 2008” will be held in Moscow from April 25 till May 11.

Works will be exhibited at the M’ARS Centre of Contemporary Art, the “Vinzavod” Centre of Contemporary Art, the “Caro-film” chain of cinemas (including the Oktyabr and the Pushkinskiy), the “Ramstor” shopping centre at Vernadsky, as well as outside on Gogolevskiy Boulevard.

Comics are sent to the festival every year from different countries. This year Spaniards present their comic “Juevo”. Italy is preparing to show the Diabolic series known across Europe; it will be presented by one of its leading authors Giuseppe Palumbo. Finland will be participating in the festival for the second year running, and this year it will present comics about the mummi trolls, created by the very Tuve Yanson and her brother. Israel and Bulgaria will also take part in "KomMissiya". The publishing house "Comics Factory" from Yekaterinburg will present Korean and Japanese manga. As part of an extra programme for this year Poland will present “Vilk” a popular humoristic comic which was prized at the International Festival in Lodza in 2003.
