Climate with conditions and forecast
Russia’s climate changes drastically with the seasons. The weather is persistently erratic, but between late spring and early autumn the days can be pleasingly warm and sunny. Although thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are common, this is the best time to visit Moscow. In July the average temperature lies between a comfortable +13îÑ and +23îÑ , or 56îF and 73îF.
In the winter months, an attractive blanket of snow covers the otherwise grimy streets of Moscow. Between late November and early February only the most robust tourists should visit. The days are short, dark and bitterly cold. Bear in mind, that it was these frigid winter months that played a huge role in routing the invasions of both Napoleon and Hitler. In January, the coldest month, the average temperature reaches -18îC/0îF and can often go lower.
