The state A.N.Skryabin Memorial Museum is located in the same house, where the prominent Russian composer, pianist, philosopher and poet Alexandr Nikolaevich Skryabin lived from 1912 till 1915. It was the potent cultural center of Moscow. In 1918 the decision was taken by the government of the Russian Federation to proclaim the commemorative house of A.N.Skryabin national cultural property. The A.N.Skryabin Memorial Museum is living evidence of the Silver Century of Russian culture, at the end of 19th Century, beginning of the 20th Century. The Museum holds those possessions, which formed an important part of Skryabin’s life – a Bechstein grand piano, a private library, furniture and pieces of art.
