Apartment ¹ 50 at Sadovaya 302B began to draw the numerous fans of the novel “The Master and Margarita” by the great Russian author Mikhail Bulgakov in the 1980s (the novel was banned for a long time, and at this time it began to be distributed in handwritten and typewritten copies). It was in this “bad apartment”, according to the novel, that Voland lived with his court, and later put on his satanic ball.

This museum really does resemble the apartment, and everything is somehow unusual and homely. There is a pleasant atmosphere with sofas, and screens showing materials from the unique electronic exhibition. After viewing this exhibition, which contains over 500 photographs and documents about Bulgakov’s life, and fragments from films based on his works, you can share your impressions over a cup of coffee. Fortunately, you don’t need to go far – the cozy café “302-B” is located right in the museum.

This museum apartment is never empty. Every week, the Bulgakov House holds poetry evenings and plays, and every month new exhibitions are held. Additionally, the centre offers various walking tours of places in Moscow associated with Bulgakov.
