Founded under the initiative of I.V.Tsvetaeva, professor of Moscow University. The museum’s collection consists of paintings from various schools and eras from former private collections (Byzantine and Italian icons, French Impressionists), plaster molds, Egyptian molds, a collection of diagrams, West-European sculptures (monuments from the Renaissance), applied art, a numismatic collection.
